Leonardo has recently signed an agreement with Enel Brasil, Saipem and TIM for the creation of the Business Council Italia in Rio de Janeiro. The main objective of the Business Council Italia will be to promote cooperation between the major Italian companies working in Brazil by implementing a series of entrepreneurial, cultural, scientific and social projects together with the business community of the State of Rio.
The four Italian companies – who are international leaders in the energy, electric mobility, technology, connectivity, engineering, telecommunications and infrastructure sectors – have committed to this initiative following an invitation by the Consul General of Italy in Rio de Janeiro, Paolo Miraglia Del Giudice. Among the first actions planned are events and seminars to promote networking and integration between managers and local authorities. The council will also be able to promote visits by economic and trade delegations of Italian companies interested in investing in Brazil, as well as help Brazilian companies wishing to expand business in Italy.
"Brazil represents a second home for Leonardo, which has been linked to the country by various projects and interests for more than 40 years," said Francesco Moliterni, Leonardo CCO-International Marketing and Strategic Campaigns. "With this new partnership, Brazil confirms its interest in developing innovative and high-tech projects. Leonardo's commitment is to support the country's growth and development through innovation, cyber security, the use of command and control platforms, as well as big data processing for monitoring infrastructure and critical areas – technologies in which Leonardo is a world leader – contributing to the sustainable growth of smart cities of the future."
