Finmeccanica has won orders for a total worth of EUR 520 million
Finmeccanica, through its companies Ansaldo Energia and Ansaldo STS, has won orders for a total worth of EUR 520 million. Ansaldo Energia has been awarded two orders, worth a total of about EUR 340 million, to build two open cycle power plants in Algeria, at Ain Djasser II (Batna Province) and Labreg (Khenchlea Province). The two power plants will have a total rated power of about 550MW. Ansaldo STS has been awarded three contracts, worth a total of about EUR 180 million, in Denmark, India and Italy. In Denmark, Ansaldo STS has been given the go-ahead by the Municipalities of Copenhagen to additionally supply the new vehicles for the city’s new metro line, called Cityringen. The option was included in the contract signed on 7 January 2011 and is worth a total of EUR 122 million. Ansaldo STS will assign the construction of the high-tech train sets to AnsaldoBreda. In addition to this contract, Ansaldo STS has been awarded an order, worth EUR 46 million, from Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL), the company that manages the metro Rail Project in Kolkata, in India. Ansaldo STS will undertake the design, construction, installation and placement into service of the train control, signalling and telecommunication systems of the new KMRCL East – West Line (EWL). Finally, Ansaldo STS has been awarded a third contract, worth around EUR 15 million, for the building of the automation, signalling and telecommunications equipment related to the extension of line B of the Rome Metro.
