The circumnavigation of Africa of the 30th Naval Group of the Italian Navy continued and as usual it features the presence of the Finmeccanica Group. After the stage of Cape Town, it sailed toward Luanda, the capital of Angola.

This stop of the 30th Naval Group represented an important opportunity to show what our Group is able to offer, also in collaboration with the Italian defense, both in terms of cutting edge technological solutions and products able to meet the requirements of the country. The days spent in Luanda have represented an excellent opportunity for meetings between the various Angolan and Italian political, institutional and military representatives and the operating companies. An important element of the event was Finmeccanica’s ability to present itself to the Angolan customer, highlighting the synergy and the integration within the Group.

The next stop of Pointe Noire, Congo has seen the Italian Navy protagonist of a demo of its capabilities during navigation, giving great prominence even in our products and systems currently on board of the Italian ships. Such activities are of great visual impact and were also replicated during the following stage in Nigeria, where the Cavour ship arrived to coincide with the celebration of a centenary of national unity.

The 30th Naval Group continued its navigation to arrive, after landing in Ghana, to Senegal, where it recorded the participation of important Senegalese institutions. The common denominator of all the stages was the close coordination between Finmeccanica and the Italian institutions, enabling us to be a part of this great experience which is the mission of the 30th Naval Group.
