Sirio Tram in China

Official presentation of the first Sirio Tram for the cit of Zuhai, built by AnsaldoBreda within the framework of the joint ventur with the Chinese CNR Dalian.

Manufactured by AnsaldoBreda and purchased by the city of Zhuhai, in the Guangdong region, China, result of the joint venture between the Italian company and the Chinese CNR Dalian, the first tram Sirio was delivered last October. The official presentation took place instead in Zhuhai few days ago, at the presence of local representatives, who admired the technological and sustainable capabilities of the product.

 

The Sirio tram is one of the city transport systems among the most environmentally friendly. The chemical pollution and the almost zero emissions make it a vehicle with low environmental impact. Moreover the equipment of supercapacitors allows the tram to even run small sections independently. Indeed such technology enables to retrieve and store on board the energy generated by the ride. In addition, the Tramwave system, developed in cooperation with Ansaldo STS, has the advantage of not requiring the placement of overhead catenary for power.

 

The new trams will fully respond to the needs of public, light and urban rail transport of the Chinese city, offering high performance while preserving the environment and the visual impact. Moreover, thanks to the Tramwave system, safety inside and outside the vehicle will always be guaranteed for passengers, pedestrians and, not least, road vehicles. Even in the worst weather conditions, the system will continue to function as required, in complete safety.
