One platform, multi-mission capabilities

Designed as a true military multi-mission turboprop platform, the C-27J has the best performance among twin engine aircraft of its class: high top cruising speed, long range, high payload, capability to operate at slow speed and very low altitude in total safety.
With modular roll-on/roll-off systems the C-27J Next Generation is a quickly reconfigurable platform for Maritime Patrol, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), ISR, data gathering and direct tactical support for airborne and ground operations.

Multi-mission capabilities

The mission portfolio can be tailored to the specific customer needs and can include tasks such as SAR (Search And Rescue, both at sea and over land), Maritime Patrol, C3ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), SIGINT (SIGnal INTelligence), Combat Support for Special Forces, Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW), even in demanding and remote areas.


Typical sensors which can be installed in accordance with the specific customer requirements, among several other pieces of equipment, include: AESA Search radar, providing world class-leading MP/ASW/SAR/ISR capabilities across maritime and overland domains; Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) system in a stabilized platform; Electronic Support Measure (ESM) for ISR and SIGINT/ELINT tasks; Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD) system, an Acoustic Subsystem, rotary Sonobuoy Launchers, wing pylons to employ lightweight torpedoes, anti-ship missiles and other payloads for ASW/ASuW missions.

Systems & equipment

A palletized, quickly removable Mission System manages the sensors, analyses the gathered information to perform a true Data Fusion, providing the crew, control centers and operating assets with a detailed, real time overall tactical picture; an enhanced Communication System is connected to the Mission System, also for SIGINT/COMINT purposes. A full Self-Protection System can be added. Mission kits/pallets offer acquisition and operating costs significantly lower than a dedicated platform.
