Our Earth Observation Services

From environmental protection to quick mapping in response to natural disasters, as well as maritime surveillance:  we offer superior data acquisition, analysis and reporting.

Through our joint-venture Telespazio (67% Leonardo, 33% Thales) we are one of the world’s leading suppliers of geo-spatial services and application solutions.

We are on the front line when it comes to all Earth Observation sectors. This includes acquiring and processing satellite data, software and product development, as well as marketing these data.

e-GEOS is a joint venture between Telespazio (80%) and the Italian Space Agency (20%).  Through the Matera Space Centre it acquires, processes, stores and distributes remote sensing data from the main satellites for Earth observation.

It can produce images, products and near-real time services generated by optical, radar, aircraft and drone data. e-GEOS works on the data received from European Space Agency’s Sentinels and on data coming from the COSMO-SkyMed constellation.

Using proprietary resources and algorithms, we integrate satellite data with IoT (Internet of Things) information collected from a variety of sources. We create a big-data ‘lake’ from which all e-GEOS can extract significant indicators for different markets.

We offer our clients a wide choice of application services. These include monitoring for environmental protection and quick mapping in response to natural disasters. We have products dedicated to defence and intelligence needs. We also offer maritime surveillance services for oil spillages and locating ships, interferometric readings for checking landslides and ground subsidence, and thematic cartography for agriculture and forestry.

We are a partner in the most important Earth Observation programmes: Copernicus, headed by the ESA and the European Commission, and the Italian COSMO-SkyMed. Finally, our portfolio includes solutions in the area of GIS (Geographic Information System) and applications to control fleets of vehicles used to monitor dangerous sites.
