ATR -600 series
With over 1,700 aircraft sold to more than 200 operators in nearly 100 countries, ATR is the world leader in the market for regional aircraft up to 90 seats.
The ATR -600 series are the most modern regional aircraft with state- of-the-art avionics, the new ultra-modern and comfortable Armonia cabin as well as low operating costs.
Every 8 seconds, an ATR aircraft takes-off or lands somewhere around the world.
ATR currently manufactures two sizes of turboprop aircraft, with 50 seats (ATR 42) and 68-78 seats (ATR 72, with stretched fuselage). All fuselages, complete with empennage, are built and equipped by Leonardo in its Pomigliano d’Arco site, near Naples. The fuselages are then shipped to France, where they are completed with French-built wings and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100 engines driving six-blade propellers.
In addition Leonardo is responsible for the development and production of the special maritime patrol variants.
Support, spares and training are provided around the world by a support network which has expanded in parallel with the ATR global commercial success, particularly in Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
ATR is an international partnership, equally owned by Leonardo and Airbus.
