  • Thanks to the agreement, the new “Partnered Electronic Warfare Support Element” (PEWSE) programme will be implemented
  • Releasing UK-sourced electronic warfare data will support UK defence exports

Finmeccanica – Selex ES, Thales UK Ltd and Lockheed Martin (Canada) have recently formed a ground-breaking partnership with the UK Ministry of Defence & UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) that will optimise the performance of UK-exported equipment by providing, at a competitive price, approved customers with access to UK sourced technical expertise and high-fidelity data relating to Electronic Warfare (EW).

The Finmeccanica-Selex ES-led industry team will be responsible for implementing the joint programme which will be known as “Partnered Electronic Warfare Support Element” (PEWSE). The aim of the programme is to create, develop and maintain UK-sourced EW operational support and parametric emitter data released on a government-to-government basis to support legitimate UK defence exports.

The PEWSE team is now mobilised and is operating out of the Joint EW Operational Support Centre (JEWOSC) at RAF Waddington.
