Leonardo at EURONAVAL 2018
Leonardo will attend Euronaval 2018 (Paris, Le Bourget, October, 23-26) showcasing its latest maritime technologies on its stand Hall 2, stand K128. The new unique on the market Combat Management System on show is under development for the Italian Navy, within the framework of the renewal of the Italian fleet for which Leonardo is responsible for the provision and integration of all on-board systems and developing a set of new systems and capabilities.
Leonardo is highlighting a wide set of naval defence products among which the most innovative Black Arrow which represents the new lightweight torpedoes generation, and the Black Scorpion, the only 5" existing torpedo, capable to increase the classification level of the submarine threats and to contrast small underwater targets.
In the domain of naval artilleries Leonardo is one of largest manufacturers of 40mm naval gun mounts in the world. More than 850 of the Company’s systems are in service with 30 Navies worldwide. Naval guns are indeed represented in Euronaval by the new fully digital Marlin 40. A range of naval gun guided ammunition, remarkably VULCANO 127mm and 76mm, is also displayed in Leonardo’s stand.
Leonardo is also exhibiting its wide range of naval missions helicopters. Among them the successful medium twin-engine multirole military NH90 and the advanced unmanned AWHero, selected to perform tasks within the OCEAN 2020 European Defence research Programme, which can also integrate the Gabbiano Ultralight surveillance radar.
Training and support is one of the strategic drivers for Leonardo. A dedicated area to virtual reality allows visitors to learn more about the MORPHEUS XR system, a virtual trainer that can be customized for any system and gives a truly immersive real life-operating environment.
