Cortina 2021 ready to go: Leonardo technological partner

Cortina 2021, the 2021 Alpine Ski World Championships, taking place in Cortina d'Ampezzo from 7 - 21 February 2021, are ready to go!
Leonardo, will partner with Cortina 2021 to contribute to the protection of the event, improving the quality of the experience for athletes, the public and the local community with the aim of ensuring security first of and foremost!

During the Championship over 600 athletes from 70 nations will compete in 13 men's and women's competitions.  The event will be televised and watched by over 500 million people all over the world. It will also be livestreamed on digital channels, giving audiences the opportunity to engage and interact.

Leonardo will be a technological partner of the event and will provide a comprehensive package including video surveillance and advanced video analysis for all Cortina 2021 venues, which will deliver data collection, analysis and classification in real time. Secure and reliable radio communications systems will also be provided, ensuring the effective coordination of security activities and emergency response plans. The project will also include the provision of training, operational support and technical assistance.
 
After 1000Miglia 2020, the 2015 Milan Expo, the 2009 G8 summit in L’Aquila, and for major sporting events including the 2018 and 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, 2013 World Cycling Championship and 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin Leonardo will contribute once again at the security of a major event!
