"Manager Gentiluomo - Vita di Antonio Albareto", written by Filippo Foschini and edited by Fondazione Ansaldo, is the opening volume of a series dedicated to certain crucial characters in the history of our country's industrial and technological development and, in particular, those associated with the Finmeccanica Group.

Albareto led what was then Elsag (currently Selex ES) which he was the CEO of in 1984 and chairman of in 1998; a manager who, like very few, epitomized modernity and memory, territorial roots and international perspectives, human values and technological research. Albareto was not from Genoa, he was born in 1929 in Molare in the province of Alessandria, but his attachment to the city, the theatre where his life and work played out over several decades, made him beyond the shadow of a doubt, an honorary citizen of Genoa. The experience of Albareto, a man of facts and not words, able to navigate a company towards an international dimension that was decisive for today's targets, says something very precious about the man in industrial and human terms. Albareto was the archetype of an entrepreneur who embrace society's cause, a model of management for everyone.
