Materiality

The materiality matrix represents the most material topics for Leonardo and its stakeholders. The materiality analysis identifies the priority issues that significantly affect the Company's ability to create value over time and which are at the basis of the reporting process of Leonardo's Sustainability and Innovation Report.

The materiality matrix has been updated according to the requirements of the GRI Sustainability Standards taking into consideration macro trends and global priorities for the main Countries where Leonardo operates, a benchmark comparison with other companies of Aerospace Defence and Security sector and the evaluations performed by ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) rating agencies, as well as by listening and engaging with our main stakeholders.

We involved the representatives of the main stakeholder categories through dedicated workshops in two of our domestic markets (Italy and the United Kingdom). With these workshops, our external stakeholders – including customers, suppliers, institutions, academia, the financial community, the media and trade associations – have been offered a chance to provide and exchange their views and opinions on the key risks and opportunities for Leonardo to create and preserve value.

The Group Management Committee was involved in the analysis and the results were presented to the competent Board of Directors’ committees.
