The materiality analysis is a process aimed at identification and assessment of the strategic priorities selected by Leonardo and its stakeholders. The topics identified have a significant impact on the company’s ability to generate value over time. The results of the analysis are represented in a matrix comparing and summing up the perspective of Leonardo’s Top Management and stakeholders. The analysis supports the preparation of the Integrated Report, the definition of Group’s strategy and Sustainability Plan, and the assessment of risks and opportunities connected with each topic.
To update the priority matrix we adopted a methodology involving both a data-driven approach - using big data analytics tools – and a participatory approach - involving Leonardo’s internal functions and, through an online survey, its external stakeholders and Top Management.
The data-driven analysis has enhanced our understanding of stakeholder priorities by leveraging state-of-the-art methodologies to analyse vast amounts of publicly available data. This data-based approach also permits ongoing monitoring and in-depth analysis of the material topics identified.
