Lorenzo Mariani is the Chief Commercial Officer of Leonardo since October 2017 and Chief Executive Officer of Leonardo International company since May 2018.
After graduating in Electronic Engineering cum laude in 1990, he served as an Officer of the Italian Navy and he began his career at Alenia and Alenia Marconi Systems in the following positions: Radar Systems Analyst, Designer of Multifunction Naval Radar, South America/NATO Sales Manager of the Land Systems Division.
He then joined MBDA, the Missile Systems Joint Venture between Finmeccanica, Airbus and BAE Systems as Head of Product Strategy.
Subsequently, he joined Selex Sistemi Integrati in 2006 covering executive positions until he was appointed Chief Operating Officer. With the creation of Selex ES, he became the Managing Director of Land & Naval, a position he held until January 2016 when he became Managing Director of the Land & Naval Defence Electronics Division of Leonardo.
He is also a Board Member of MBDA and Deputy Chairman of Iveco-Oto Melara Consortium (CIO).
