With over 15,000 units delivered, Leonardo’s Aircraft Division is a significant manufacturer of engine nacelles for Airbus and Boeing airliners, for Embraer, Superjet and ARJ regionals and for Dassault business jets.

Through its engineering capabilities, the Divisiondesigns and builds nacelles to meet the strictest thermal, aerodynamic and mechanical requirements of these complex structures. The company is actively involved in research in this field, with specific regard to means to reduce the acoustic impact of airline jet engines.

The Division builds nacelles both directly (through the MHD joint venture with Aircelle) or in partnership with recognised leaders such as Goodrich Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and General Electric.
