ATR -600 series
With over 1,100 aircraft delivered through 2013, the ATR family is the sales and operational leader in the regional twin-turboprop market worldwide.
Known as the 600 Series, the current production standard sports glass cockpit, the new super-comfortable Armonia interior and low operating costs.
Production runs at six aircraft per month.
The aircraft is currently offered in two models, with 50 seats (ATR 42) and 70 seats (ATR 72, with stretched fuselage). All fuselages, complete with empennage, are built and equipped by Leonardo in its Pomigliano d’Arco site, near Naples. The fuselages are then shipped to France, where they are completed with French-built wings and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100 engines driving six-blade propellers.
In addition Leonardo is responsible for the development and production of the special maritime patrol variants.
Support, spares and training are provided around the world by a support network which has expanded in parallel with the ATR global commercial success, particularly in Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
ATR is a French-Italian consortium, equally owned by Leonardo and Airbus Group.
