Leonardo at LAAD 2017
Leonardo is showcasing its expertise in Aerospace, Defence and Security, April 4-7, 2017, at LAAD, the largest and most important Defence & Security exhibition in Latin America, bringing together every two years in Rio de Janeiro domestic and international companies, equipment and services suppliers and technologies for use by the military and police forces.
Leonardo is exhibiting in the region for the first time under its new brand identity. However, the company has been present and active in Brazil for over 40 years, contributing to improved in-country security via the provision of cutting-edge electronic systems and sensors. Some of these technologies are displayed at Leonardo’s stand, L40 in Hall 3, including the complete SDR (Software Defined Radio) family; the KRONOS Multifunctional Active Electronic Scanning Antenna (M-AESA) radar; the AW139, T129 and AW119Kx helicopters; the M-346 (Advanced Jet Trainer; Fighter Trainer and Fighter Attack) and the ATR 72MP aircraft.
Moreover, Leonardo has been present in Brazil’s Space sector since 1997 through its subsidiary Telespazio Brasil, one of Brazil’s leading providers of satellite telecommunications, offering a wide range of advanced solutions and multimedia services for the corporate and government markets. Telespazio Brasil is also active in the Earth observation sector, in the COSMO-SkyMed radar satellite constellation on behalf of e-GEOS (a Telespazio/ASI company), with particular focus on monitoring the Amazon forest and for agriculture, defence and security, and oil & gas protection applications.
