On the third day of the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, Leonardo’s exhibition area hosted several international representatives including the Romanian Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defence’s Armaments Department, Florin Lazar Vladica, and the Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh, Air Chief Mashal Esrar Abu.
Leonardo’s top management also welcomed the Chief Executive of the European Defence Agency (EDA), Jorge Domecq; the Director of Research and Innovation of the European Commission, Clara de la Torre; the Head of Research and Development Unit of Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency), Edgar Beugels; and the Director General for Industrial Policy, Competitiveness and SMEs of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Stefano Firpo.
A large NATO delegation focused on the products displayed in Leonardo’s static area, as did other delegations from different countries, including Singapore and Japan.
Leonardo announced today that it has been chosen to develop and deliver the NATO AGS Logistic Information System (ALIS) for NATO’s Alliance Ground Surveillance (AGS) programme, for which it is providing the surveillance system as a member of the Northrop Grumman-led industrial team.
At Leonardo’s chalet and static area, a media briefing was held on the latest helicopter model developed and introduced into the market by the Company, the AW169, with a special focus on the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) sector. The AW169, a best-selling model with over 160 units ordered in various countries, many of which for rescue services , best embodies Leonardo’s philosophy in this area.
