Agreements, ceremonies and stand presentations during Heli-Expo 2017

This year’s edition of Heli-Expo, the most important exhibition in the rotary wing sector, which took place in Dallas, Texas ended on March 9. This is a key event for the helicopter industry worldwide and is attended by experts, the main OEMs and companies offering services and solutions in the helicopter field.

Leonardo took part at the show presenting its flagship products at its stand, with a specific corner dedicated to Customer Support and Training (CS&T) and its new brand: TeamUp.

Many visitors had the chance to appreciate and deepen their technical knowledge of Leonardo’s helicopters. Moreover, it was also possible to experience via virtual reality, a search and rescue mission over sea waters carried out thanks to the intervention of an AW189, called “Lifted to Safety”.

Leonardo’s stand also had a corner dedicated to Elbit Systems, which presented its flight vision systems for helicopter pilots and provided the opportunity to directly test the platform.

During the exhibition, Leonardo’s stand hosted many ceremonies and presentations.

The Ceremonies

Leonardo and Shanghai Zenisun strengthened their strategic cooperation in the Chinese civil helicopter market by renewing the existing Distributorship Agreement with Sino-US Intercontinental, part of Shanghai Zenisun, as the sole distributor in China (including Hong Kong and Macau) of Leonardo’s civil products. These include the AW119, AW169, AW139, and AW189. The two companies will also initiate joint efforts on local training and local completion centre capability setup.

Furthermore, a signing ceremony took place with Mexico’s Aerolineas Ejecutivas for the sale of one AW169 Corporate helicopter. The aircraft will be deployed for Corporate Executive transport and it is the first AW169 sold in the country.
