AgustaWestland’s Training Academy in Philadelphia offers a comprehensive curriculum for pilots, flight engineers, and maintenance technicians. Our customers receive quality, integrated helicopter simulation and training solutions for initial, conversion and recurrent training.

 

Simulator and flight training includes briefing / debriefings, instructor demonstrations, and student practise of flying skills and procedures. Flight training is conducted in Philadelphia with EASA, FAA and TCCA Level D approved AW139 Full Flight Simulator training in Morristown, NJ and ground school classroom training. The Academy is also an approved Air Transport of Canada facility.

 

AgustaWestland training personnel are highly qualified and experienced in the specialised field of helicopter aeronautics and our Training Academy offers the highest standard of training required for the most modern helicopters in the market.

 

COURSES


Ground courses are conducted using traditional classroom training methods. Simulator and flight training consists of briefing/debriefings, instructor demonstrations and student practice for flying skills and procedures. The flight training will be conducted at AgustaWestland USA Training Academy in Philadelphia, PA, with Level-D full flight simulator training at Rotorsim in Morristown, New Jersey.

 

The training below is performed for the AgustaWestland AW109, AW119 and AW139:

 

Pilot Initial/Transition: this course introduces qualified pilots to the systems, flight characteristics and accepted operating procedures.

 

Aircrew Recurrency: this course reinforces and re-emphasises qualified flight crews the current normal and emergency aircraft operating procedures.

 

Avionics and Electrical: this course completely familiarises qualified aircraft maintenance personnel with the installation, theory of operation and accepted maintenance procedures for the avionics and electrical systems.

 

Airframes and Structures: this course completely familiarises qualified aircraft maintenance personnel with the installation, theory of operation, and accepted maintenance procedures for the structural, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
