ASD and IFBEC Principles

With reference to business ethics two initiative in the aerospace&defence sector, in particular, must be highlighted: the first is fostered by ASD(AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe) and is open to European companies; the other is fostered by ASD jointly with AIA(Aerospace Industries Association of America) in order to develop worldwide the ethical principles shared between U.S. and European companies:

 

With reference to business ethics two initiative, in particular, must be highlighted: the first is fostered by ASD and is open to European companies; the other is fostered by ASD jointly with AIA (Aerospace Industries Association of America) in order to develop worldwide the ethical principles shared between U.S. and European companies:

  1. Common Industry Standards for Aerospace and Defence against Corruption (“CIS”): it is a charter of principles developed by ASD’s Business Ethics Committee and formally adopted in 2007 by ASD's Council.
    Leonardo has joined the initiative by taking part actively in developing CIS principles in ASD’s Ethics Committee and then adopting them formally; moreover Finmeccanica has included such principles in its Code of Ethics as a set of fundamental values.
  2. Global Principles of Business Ethics for the Aerospace and Defence Industry: it is a charter of principles developed by International Forum for Business Ethical Conduct (“IFBEC”)'s Steering Committee. Leonardo is a member of IFBEC Steering Committee and  has formally joined by subscribing to these principles and to its international support initiative.
