Volandia - Parco e Museo del Volo
Volandia - Parco e Museo del Volo, opened in 2010, is the largest Italian park-museum to be devoted entirely to Aeronautics, situated in the buildings of the Officine Aeronautiche Caproni of Somma Lombardo. Leonardo is one of the founding partners.
The area is spread over sixty thousand square meters, divided into five thematic sections, thirty aircraft, a thousand models, an area cinema and a huge technological material as flight simulators including one mounted on a real helicopter.
The collection hosts the whole of the territory's aeronautical tradition, which has made the history of aviation starting from Caproni himself, whose family has provided the legendary warehouses, to the SIAI Marchetti, the Macchi, the Agusta and much more besides.
