Defence Systems Division presently produces the Thesan and Black Snake sonars.

The Thesan has been designed to detect and localize any kind of navigation obstacles and therefore it can be used to find out drifting and/or submerged objects like containers, icebergs, rocks and similar or moored or drifting mines.

The system also foresees an operating mode dedicated to the operators’ training and it is equipped with failures self-diagnosis.

Thesan is presently working on important Italian Navy ships.

Black Snake, on the contrary, is a towed sonar expressly designed to detect and classify attacking torpedoes.
