The SD-150 Hero is a state-of-the-art Short Range Tactical Rotary Unmanned Air Vehicle (RUAV), that incorporates the Helicopter Division experience in the helicopter design and productions.

Hero design criteria reflects the state of the art of the international regulations and comply with both civil and military requirements; it is developed for land and maritime operations, where reliability and operational safety is paramount.
With endurance of over 5 hours, the SD-150 Hero is the perfect low cost/low maintenance solution for civil, military and homeland security applications.
The System is equipped with a interoperable Ground Control Station (GCS) with an advanced Human Machine Interface. SW-4’Solo’ GCS provides an interface which can be used to control and monitor a single or multiple RUAV missions at the same time, from takeoff to landing. It also provides effective control of RUAV payloads and allows sensor data transmitted from the RUAV to be monitored. SD-150 Hero GCS can communicate with (Remotely Piloted Aircrafts (RPASs) using the STANAG 4586 protocol allowing it to control and monitor any type of STANAG compliant RPAS (both rotary and fixed wing).
SD-150 Hero GCS can be deployed in different hardware configurations according to customer needs: desk mounted, transportable or standalone rugged for use in the field (MIL-STD-810 compliant).

LEADING FEATURES

 

SD-150 HERO RUAV has been designed as a dual-use. It is provided with rugged landing gear for all surface operations and with an optimized three-blade main rotor with reduced vibration generation to maximize overall payload performance. The articulated main rotor allows the blades to be easily and rapidly folded and unfolded to reduce pre/post mission time. Two modular payload bays can host a wide range of sensors. The nose bay can accomodate a payload up to 20 kg. The underbelly bay provides a payload up to the maximum payload weight. System reliability is maximized with several safety features. The system is capable of fully autonomous emergency procedures including 'back home', 'link loss', 'GPS loss' and autorotation and it is provided with autonomous on-board terrain and obstacle avoidance. SD-150 Hero is designed to fulfill both civil and military certification regulations

 

For an easy and low cost maintenance, SD-150 Hero is designed to reduce maintenance costs with respect to similar platforms due to a low maintenance 2 stroke 2 cylinder engine.

 

Designed with a high level of flexibility, it performs a variety of dual-use missions with a large range of operational capability offering high performances due to its innovative technological solutions.
