Museo delle Officine Galileo
The Museo delle Officine Galileo is located in Campi Bisenzio (Florence). It was founded in 2006, by Galileo Avionica. Having founded various Italian companies in the defence sector under the same brand, Avionica had acquired the heritage of Officine Galileo di Firenze, one of the most ancient Italian companies in the field of high technology due to its optical and astronomical instruments.
The Seniores Association was responsible for setting it up. Inside, the museum preserves an astronomical pendulum clock donated by the Ximeniano Observatory in Florence. The clock was made in 1884 by Officine Galileo and for years it was used to synchronise all the other clocks present in the Observatory.
To visit the museum, booking is required.
