Finmeccanica: new orders worth EUR 147 million
Finmeccanica won new orders for a total value of EUR 147 million through its companies Ansaldo STS, Ansaldo Energia, SELEX Sistemi Integrati and Alenia Aeronautica.
Ansaldo STS has been awarded, through its subsidiary Ansaldo STS France, a contract worth EUR 62 million by Eiffage, one of the European leaders in civil works and concessions, to provide complete signalling systems and services ERTMS level 2 on the 182 km of new high-speed line Le Mans- Rennes, in North West of France. The works are due for completion by falls 2016.
Ansaldo Energia has been awarded a contract in Egypt worth about EUR 50 million. The order covers the design, supply, assembly and commissioning of a 280 MW steam turbine, a hydrogen-cooled generator and the relevant auxiliary systems for the Banha combined cycle power plant (40 km North of Cairo), operated by Middle Delta Electricity Production Co., a subsidiary of the state-owned Egyptian Electricity Holding Co..
SELEX Sistemi Integrati has signed contracts worth a total of around EUR 25 million. Specifically, the company has signed a number of contracts with the Thai navy and air force to supply mobile landbased Kronos surveillance radar systems. In addition to these orders, the company has also signed a contract with Colombia’s Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronàutica Civil to upgrade its Cerro Santana radar system. The last contract relates to the supply of an ATCR 33 primary radar to Bristol Airport in the UK for air traffic control.
Finally, Alenia Aeronautica has signed a contract with the Lithuanian armed forces worth about EUR 10 million to provide logistics support to the Lithuanian air force’s C-27J aircraft. As well as providing the client with spare parts and ground support services, the company will also offer a specific on-site assistance service.
