The 51st edition of the Paris Air Show kicks-off

The 51st Paris Air Show got its start on June 15th in Le Bourget (France), at the old Parisian airport. Finmeccanica is participating in the event, scheduled to end on June 21st,  through its companies Alenia Aermacchi, AgustaWestland, DRS Technologies, Telespazio and Selex ES, with its own dedicated space, promoting the Group’s technological solutions, integrated capabilities, systems and products in the Aerospace, Defence and Security sectors.

Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi is focusing on the M-345 HET (High Efficiency Trainer), showcasing the advanced flight simulator M-345 GDD that the company is offering both in Italy and to several international markets, including France. The M-345 GDD reproduces the flying qualities of the aircraft and is a faithful replica of the cockpit and of the aircraft’s main flight control instruments.

Finmeccanica-Selex ES is focusing on Avionics, proposing its leading products for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance, integrated into the Group's global offering dedicated to the Air Force. Furthermore, within the range of Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar the company is presenting the lightweight and compact PicoSAR, on display in the Sagem exhibition area, and the Seaspray 5000 E, showcased in the Aweodata area. At the Italian Space Agency stand, Selex ES is also exhibiting the Drill and Sample Preparation and Distribution system – the cosmic "drill" developed for"ExoMars", the Mars exploration mission, that is able to take samples of material up to two metres deep for "in situ" analysis.

Finmeccanica-Telespazio is present in both the Finmeccanica Group and Italian Space Agency stands, displaying its main activities in regards to systems, operations and satellite communications, as well as applications and services in the field of geo-information through its subsidiary e-GEOS. The environmental monitoring programme, EarthLab, which involves Telespazio France (the French subsidiary of the Telespazio Group) and e-GEOS, will also be shown.

Lastly, the Finmeccanica exhibition will host the presentation of the interactive multimedia system that demonstrates the Group’s Airborne expertise. Starting from possible threats in Air-to-Air, Air-to-Sea, Air-to-Land environments, focus is placed on the competitive capabilities offered by Finmeccanica regarding ISTAR solutions in relation to the different platforms and to the platforms themselves.
