Finmeccanica - AnsaldoBreda: order from Trenitalia for 98 million euro

-   Placed an order for the construction of 70 cars of the Vivalto regional train
-   The vehicles will be manufactured in Pistoia and in Reggio Calabria plants

 

Rome, 1 April 2015 – Seventy new cars of the "Vivalto" train were ordered to Finmeccanica - AnsaldoBreda by Trenitalia, which has exercised the option included in the previous contract signed in March 2010.

 

The order, worth 98 million euro, concerns the construction of 56 intermediate and 14 semipilot cars. The first will be manufactured at the AnsaldoBreda plant in Reggio Calabria, while the second at the plant in Pistoia.

 

The "Vivalto" is a double-deck vehicle characterized by innovative elements of comfort and handiness. It is equipped with 724 seats on two floors and a capacity of over 1,500 passengers in its overall structure. The vehicle, wheelchair accessible, can reach a top speed of 160 km/h.

 

With reference to the Regulation on Related Parties Transactions, we hereby inform that the mentioned order (with value of “lesser relevance”) refers to the contract signed by AnsaldoBreda with Trenitalia (a “Related Party” of Finmeccanica in so far as it is a company indirectly owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance) in March 2010, prior to the entry into force of the Consob Regulation thereof.
