Finmeccanica, in Rimini, looks to the future: its young people and tomorrow's technologies
This year's presence of Finmeccanica at the Rimini Meeting is the opportunity to present the Group as a reality strongly projected into the future, thanks to the significant wealth of high-tech products and services of its companies. Special importance is reserved for technologies capable of improving the quality of life of citizens, thanks to solutions involving the application of civil systems that often arise in the world of defence ('dual use technologies').
"Smart technologies for the city of the future, satellite systems for the observation and the protection of earth, 'sustainable' aircraft and new frontiers of aeronautical engineering, the operational versatility of helicopters for handling emergencies: these are some of the products and solutions that make our Group a reality capable of contributing to the challenges of a modern society," said Giuseppe Orsi, Chairman and CEO of Finmeccanica, today in Rimini for the opening of the Meeting and for the presentation by Trenitalia of the "Frecciarossa 1000" - the high-speed train produced by AnsaldoBreda, a Finmeccanica company - in the presence of Prime Minister Mario Monti and the CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato Mauro Moretti.
To "narrate" Finmeccanica at the Rimini Meeting this year will be its people, the human resources that - with their wealth of expertise and enthusiasm - represent the true excellence of the Group. Attending the Meeting there will be not only "experts" from various companies on the related topics for further study, but also the "younger generation" of Finmeccanica who will thus be able to have a direct dialogue with the many young people who flock to the event.
This different approach to the Meeting is consistent with the 'new course' of Finmeccanica wanted by the Chairman and CEO Giuseppe Orsi, and is also evident materially in the innovative design of the Group's stand, which for the occasion has replaced the traditional red colour with a brown hue, inspired by a criterion of 'sustainability' through the use of ecological and recyclable materials consistent with the Planet Inspired project, launched recently by Finmeccanica in favour of a 'sustainable' use of technology.
Each day centre stage will be taken by a different company of the Group which - in the telling of their products and services - will highlight the partnerships and points of contact with the other Finmeccanica companies, thus stressing our ability to take advantage of the skills drawn from different sectors of business to offer customers integrated solutions.
The companies headlining the different days are AgustaWestland, Alenia Aermacchi, Telespazio, SELEX Elsag and SELEX Sistemi Integrati; the last day will be devoted to parent company Finmeccanica.
