AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce the delivery of the first AW119Kx single engine helicopter by AVIASUR to a final customer during FIDAE 2014, in Santiago, marking the entry in service of this latest AW119 version in South America. The helicopter, the first of three of the same type for the customer, will be used for VIP transport missions in Chile.

 

AgustaWestland is continuing to increase its market share in South America and now has over 30 of its helicopters operating in Chile comprising AW119 series, AW109 Power, Grand, GrandNew and W-3A Sokol models for both commercial and parapublic duties.

 

AVIASUR is an appointed distributor for AgustaWestland commercial products in Chile since 2012 and authorized service centre providing maintenance and other support services for AgustaWestland commercial helicopter customers. The service centre is located at AVIASUR’s modern facility at Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Chile. The service centre in Chile continues AgustaWestland’s strategy to provide customers with greater levels of service close to their operating locations. AVIASUR also provides a wide range of aviation services from its Santiago headquarters including a full FBO service, aircraft sales, charter flights and aircraft management for private and corporate clients.


About 240 AW119 helicopters have been ordered to date in more than 30 countries by over 110 customers. Unveiled in October 2012, the AW119Kx is the latest evolution of the proven AW119 single engine helicopter which features the Garmin G1000H™ integrated flight deck system while keeping the AW119’s outstanding performance, cabin space and payload. The new avionics system includes a synthetic vision system, moving map, highway in the sky and obstacle/terrain avoidance systems for enhanced pilot situational awareness and safety.
